building surveys

Surveys are a “health check” for properties.  If you are buying or leasing a property, you should have a survey carried out before you enter into a contract.

visual inspection

Banks or building societies may ask for a report from an appropriately qualified person to assess and comment on a specific defect highlighted in another report carried out on a property.

structure only survey

Inspects the main structural elements of the property including roofs, walls (inc chimney stacks & rainwater goods) and floors. It also highlights any damp or woodboring insects within those elements of the building.  The report also gives budget costs for the repairs identified in the survey.  

full building survey

Provides a detailed inspection of all the structural elements included in the Structure Only Survey but adding windows, doors, internal & external joinery, sanitary fittings, site boundaries and the services including electrical, plumbing, heating and drainage (although we do not test services).  The report also gives budget costs for the repairs identified in the survey.
